WINE CRAFTED AT THE PERFECT PLACE

SINCE 1271: TRADITIONAL WINE GROWING VILLAGE

The winzer have been producing burgundy wines of extraordinary finesse, seasoning and distinct durability here since 1271. Today is the Oberbergener Winzer one of the most important producer groups in Europe. Sustainable viticulture and landscape maintenance have always been a concern of the 400 winzer families, who cherish and care for a total vineyard area of about 350 ha.

Wine is cultivated environmentally friendly on steep terrace slopes by the Oberbergener Winzer. Unique vintages in selected premium quality and exclusive yield are harvested. The taste of the vineyard wines reveals the distinctive character of the respective parcel.

WINZERS DAILY WORK: FOUNDATION FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

For years, the winzer of Oberbergen have consistently relied on ecological greening through the use of crop seeds, target-oriented organic fertilization and the professional treatment of the vine during the vegetation phase. Through these measures close to nature and the renunciation of herbicide, the winegrowers make a great contribution to the preservation, protection and promotion of species diversity - but it is the prerequisite for the production of grapes of outstanding quality.

BIOTOP: WARM HABITAT IN THE MIDDLE OF NATURE RESERVE

The management of the vineyards often takes place on small parcels of the extinct volcano, which are difficult to access. They reach into the nature reserve with the unique dry grass, on which one of the largest orchid folds in Europe thrives and rare birds such as the bee-eater as well as the emerald lizards are native. The flowering landscapes are a true paradise for the wild bees, which are threatened in many regions.
